Self-Hypnosis Tutorial: Putting It All Together

This section will help remind you of what you need to remember in order to put what you've learned into practice.

Now it’s time to take what you’ve created and put it all together and begin your self-hypnosis experience.  By now you should have a short hypnosis script of about a half page or so.  Your script should be short enough so that it is fairly easy to memorize.  It should state your intention in a clear, precise manner; should contain language and visualizations that help evoke feelings reflective of your motivations; and should allow you an opportunity to overcome obstacles if necessary.

You also should have created for yourself a ritual which should, at the very least, involve a time that is set aside each day for self-hypnosis and a place in which to practice your self-hypnosis.  Candles, incense, and other ritualistic accessories/practices are left to your discretion.  The importance of the ritualistic aspect of self-hypnosis is in its training of your subconscious mind.  Once your subconscious recognizes that these self-hypnosis sessions are a time for creating changes in your life, your subconscious will respond to the directions (hypnotic suggestions) you give to it.

You also should have chosen an induction for yourself.  You can use the one provided for you in this tutorial or listen to the free self hypnosis audio induction found here.  Our self-hypnosis inductions include soothing background music.

When you have created a well-written script, have chosen an induction, and have created a ritualistic setting for your self-hypnosis practice, you’re all set to go.  Your success is entirely dependant on you.  Why?  Because you are the one who has successfully created the life you are living right now—whether you’re happy with it or not.  And you are the only one who can change it.  Know this and know it well: Creation always succeeds.  Have you successfully created the life you desire or have you created something different for yourself?  From this moment forward, begin to create your life consciously, remembering that all thoughts are creative.  The good self-hypnotist is the one who becomes an effective, conscious creator.

A good question to ask is: How long do I need to practice self-hypnosis for a specific creative endeavor to be successful?  Well, there is no set time.  It might take just a few sessions or it might take a month or two or anything in between.  Believe you'll be successful, and you're well on your way.  Practice your self-hypnosis till you have successfully changed the unwanted behavior (and replaced it with a new pattern of behavior that is well entrenched in your subconscious) or create something new in your life.

Does self-hypnosis actually work?  Well, since you are reading this website, you can correctly assume that the "I am the successful completion of my website" self-hypnosis endeavor was, indeed, successful.  I would say good luck, but luck has nothing to do with it.  It's all about creation.  Good creating, friends.
