Self-Hypnosis and Energy Alignment

Perhaps the most amazing progress in terms of therapeutic effectiveness has come from the relatively new area of energy therapy.

Over the course of the last thirty years or so, energy therapies have increasingly become a more important tool for therapists.  From Dr. Roger Callahan's TFT (Thought Field Therapy) which evolved into Gary Craig's EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), to EMT (Eye Movement Technique) which evolved into EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), to REM (Rapid Eye Movement) therapy, energy therapies have become more and more popular.  They have a reputation of being effective therapies that require far fewer sessions than traditional cognitive therapies.

I like to refer to energy therapies, in a collective sense, as energy alignment because the goal is to bring our emotions into alignment with who we want to be consciously through the use of energy techniques and therapies.  Our emotions are triggered by events and circumstances which automatically create an emotional response within us as a result of our internal programming.  Changing our energetic response to an issue or problem helps to align our mind (consciously and subconsciously) and body with who we want to be emotionally and thus helps to change our internal programming.

Does Hypnosis Use Energy Techniques?

Hypnosis also employs techniques that can make changes through the body's energy field.  Just by becoming relaxed and breathing rhythmically, you can create a smooth energetic flow throughout your body, and by then visualizing yourself being relaxed in what would be a normally stressful or fearful circumstance, you can reprogram the way in which you react (emotionally and energetically) to an event or circumstance.  This is just one example of an hypnosis technique that uses the body's energy field to reprogram the mind and body.  Another common hypnosis technique (this one similar to EMT, EMDR, and REM therapy) asks a client to raise their eyes upward while trying to open their eyes but making sure to keep their eyes shut, which creates a fluttering effect of the eyes and eyelids.  This fluttering of the eyes and eyelids simulates the rapid eye movement that occurs during rem sleep.  This is important because it is believed that emotional processing of memories occurs during rem sleep.  Eye movement techniques are used with EMDR to mimic this same emotional processing state.

What Happens If You Combine Hypnosis with Energy Alignment?

Since hypnosis and energy therapies are two of the most effective tools out there, it only makes sense to combine them.  While energy therapies seek to create change energetically and emotionally, hypnosis targets the subconscious mind to reprogram the mind and body as well as the emotions.  The truth is that to create change effectively, it has to occur consciously, subconsciously, and energetically (emotionally).  So, if you combine hypnosis with energy therapies, you have a much more comprehensive tool to help create change.

From here on out, most of the mp3s I'll be creating will combine some form of energy alignment with hypnosis in the belief that it will create more effective tools for change.  Hypnotic EFT combines hypnosis with EFT to help deal with emotional issues.  And Perfectly Calm and Relaxed combines some energy techniques with hypnosis to help with stress relief/reduction.
