Hypnosis Techniques: Guided Imagery

The guided imagery technique is one used to focus the mind on a journey and to deepen the hypnotic state.  This technique can be used in self-hypnosis (simply by imagining the journey) and in hypnosis where a subject is guided by a hypnotist.

Guided imagery journeys can take you deep within your mind and deepen a hypnotic state.  This technique often utilizes phrases with metaphors and embedded suggestions to go deeper.  You can guide someone on a journey deep into the woods or into another state (of mind).  This technique can really help to focus someone's mind.
