Hypnosis Techniques: Direct Suggestions
They are pretty much what the phrase implies. They are suggestions given in hypnosis or self-hypnosis to guide or instruct a subject to respond in a certain way. They are usually simple and to the point, and they are literal.
You can use direct suggestions to guide someone into a relaxed hypnotic state:
"Take a deep breath and allow yourself to relax."
"Relax your thigh muscles. Relax all the muscles in your thighs. Relax them deeply."
You can also use direct suggestions to change behavior:
"You are a non-smoker."
"You are relaxed and calm in all situations."
