New Self-Hypnosis MP3 Downloads Status

Nearly two months ago, I had finished writing scripts for five new self-hypnosis/hypnotherapy mp3 downloads.  I was just starting to do the recording when we decided to move.  Now that the house is sold and we’ve bought a new house, I’m back to work.  Here are a list of the new mp3s that should be showing up on the website in the next 4-6 weeks.

Incredibly Relaxed–This is a self-hypnosis induction that takes you into a very relaxed state in which your subconscious mind becomes so receptive and so sensitive to all the directions you choose to give to it.  This is likely the last of the self-hypnosis inductions I’ll do, as I begin to concentrate on more traditional hypnosis/hypnotherapy mp3s.

Sound and Peaceful Sleep–This insomnia relief mp3 has a very nice visualization where you go down to a private beach where a large comfortable bed sits under the shade of a group of palm trees.  There are also suggestions to let go of any stress or worries from your day.

Rainforest Meditation–This meditation takes you deep within a remote rainforest where your personal sanctuary is located.  From your comfy spot in the front porch of your sanctuary, you’ll listen to the soothing, calming sounds of the rainforest as you drift into a deep, meditative state.

Quiet Mind Meditation–This meditation helps you cultivate a quiet state of mind from which to direct your meditation inward as your observe the depths of your mind.

Morning Day Planner–Ever have a problem getting started or focused on things you want to accomplish?  This short download helps get you focused and energized on whatever it is you’d like to accomplish for the day.

So these five mp3 self-hypnosis/hypnotherapy downloads should be available around the end of June or first part of July.  And for the first day they’re available, they will be free.  All I ask for in return, is some feedback.

Incredibly Relaxed Self-Hypnosis Induction

Just a short update.  I’ve finished recording another self-hypnosis induction: “Incredibly Relaxed.”  I should finish the mixing and mastering today, and the mp3 version should be available next month if not sooner.  This will be the last self-hypnosis induction I’ll be doing.  After that, I’ll be focusing on traditional hypnosis session mp3s.

I have two more scripts finished (”Morning Day Planner and Energizer,” and “Rainforest Meditation”) and will start the recording process this week.  Both of these should be available in April.  I’m midway through another script, “The No Mind (Witness) Meditation.”  I will release three of these around the 1st of April and possibly four.  There will be a one-day period where these mp3s will be free.  All I ask in return is that you give me feedback on the mp3s and that you agree to allow me to use your comments (if I choose) as testimonials.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

That Fuzzy Old Subconscious–Phantasmagoria and Lucid Dreams

I often marvel at just how fuzzy the subconscious mind seems to be.  I notice my subconscious mind the most when I’m about to go to sleep or when I wake up in the middle of the night and then go back to sleep.  It’s not unusual for me to begin to see rather weird random imagery (phantasmagoria) right before I drop off to sleep.  Images that seem to come out of nowhere and don’t seem connected to anything.  This usually occurs after my conscious mind has pretty much stopped being active and I move into that rare state where my conscious, thinking mind has shut down but I’m still aware and conscious.  It usually only lasts for several seconds or on and off again for about a minute before I drop off.  Another instance of being aware within our subconscious is lucid dreaming.

Many years ago I experimented with lucid dreaming and out of body experiences.  I had read several books on the subjects and decided to use hypnosis before I went to sleep at night to help induce lucid dreams.  I would read over my short little script before I went to sleep (I’d also include the subject I wanted my lucid dream to be about).  I’d often explore past lives.  The lucid dreams would occur in two ways.

Sometimes I would become aware that I was sleeping.  I would then roll out of bed (not my physical body, of course) and be on all fours on the carpet.  I could feel the carpet and I’d also feel a great sense of excitement that I was about to begin an exciting journey.  I’d get up and head towards the window at the east side of our bedroom.  Our bedroom was a large attic bedroom and the windows on each end were quite small.  But when I’d get to the east side window, the window would suddenly become quite large and I could open the window and jump out and begin to fly.  And before I’d know it, I was flying into a past life scene.  Extremely trippy stuff.

The second way in which I would begin a lucid dream is more typical of a lucid dream.  I would wake up in the middle of the night, and before I dropped off back to sleep, I’d repeat to myself several times, “I am awake in the dream.”  I’d repeat the phrase perhaps four or six times and then I’d try to keep my awareness intact as I dropped off.  And sometimes I would transition into a dream in an aware state.

Lucid states don’t generally last a long time, though I’ve had a few lucid dreams that have lasted quite a while.  There are a few things I’ve learned through my lucid dreaming I’d like to share.  I used to use some tricks I’d read about to keep a dream scene going when I felt it was about to dissipate.  But a friend of mine once suggested that rather than trying to control the dream, which I was apt to do, I should simply try to witness the dream without become emotionally involved or attached.  I tried it and the results were spectacular.

Normally in a lucid dream, the colors are very vivid and objects have a tangible feel to them.  When I would simply “witness” the lucid dream, the scenes would last much longer than normal and the colors were even more vivid than usual.

One side effect that eventually caused me to quit my lucid dreaming experiences was the lack of rest I got.  When you’re lucid dreaming, your conscious mind isn’t getting the rest it usually does during sleep.  I’d often be quite tired during those days after spending time the previous night lucid dreaming.

So why am I talking about phantasmagoria and lucid dreaming on a hypnosis site?  Because to experience or become aware of the transitional state–as happens when you experience phantasmagoria and lucid dreaming–between waking and sleeping can give you a better understanding of the state of mind you’re trying to achieve for hypnosis.  A state of mind in which you are extremely relaxed; your thinking mind is taking a little vacation; your mind is highly focused on the subject at hand; and yet, you are extraordinarily aware.

Hypnosis as a Tool to Move Past Intellectual Understanding

Wow, that’s some kind of title.  But this is an important point to understand for those who want to make important, powerful changes in their lives.

About 14 years ago or so, I began a spiritual journey that I hoped would bring me a higher understanding of our spiritual nature, and more importantly, a feeling or experience of enlightenment.  I devoured books on spirituality and looked at a number of religions.  After several years, I began to get an understanding (my own personal understanding) of what enlightenment was all about.  What I discovered was that it wasn’t all that difficult to attain an intellectual understanding of spiritual enlightenment.  But just because I had an intellectual understanding didn’t mean that I was having the actual experience of enlightenment or being enlightened.

Quite to the contrary, my new understanding gave me a painfully acute awareness that I was far from experiencing the sort of enlightenment I was looking for.  But that’s okay.  It was an important step for me to understand that I had to take what I’d learned and be able to incorporate that understanding into myself in a transformative way.  And that’s where hypnosis fit into my life.  I realized I had to incorporate the teachings I’d learned into a deeper level of my mind (my subconscious.)  I became a CHT (Certified Hypnotherapist) around the same time I had this new understanding, and hypnosis has helped me to become less judgmental of myself and others, to be more in allowance of myself and others, and is also helping me to learn to enjoy life more and not take things quite so seriously.

This anecdote rings true for just about any area of our lives that we might wish to change.  If you want to quit smoking, it’s easy to make that decision on a conscious, intellectual level.  After all, a decision to quit smoking is a fairly rational decision to make.  But quitting, making that transformative step from smoker to non-smoker, isn’t as easy as we’d like it to be.  Because we also have to get our subconscious mind to go along with the change we want to make.  And that’s where hypnosis can help us to move past the intellectual understanding of what we want to change and truly incorporate that change into our lives.

Waking Self-Hypnosis

We all do it. We’re all practicing self-hypnosis as we walk around in our awake state. Every thought you entertain is an auto-suggestion. Some thoughts are more powerful than others. It all depends on the energy you have in relationship to your thoughts and the clarity of your intention; well, that’s if you have any real intention where your thoughts are concerned. One of the more powerful ways we hypnotize ourselves is by repetition. A repeated thought has much more power than a random thought. Did you know that 90-95% of the thoughts you have today are the same thoughts you had yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that. So you’re already practicing self-hypnosis in a powerful way. Here’s an example of how our waking, self-hypnotizing works.

Today, I may be thinking about that new computer I want. But how am I thinking about it? Am I focusing on the fact that I don’t have the computer. Is my energy low and weak when I have the thought that I don’t have the computer. Or am I determined that that computer is mine. Is my energy strong in relationship to my thoughts about having the new computer. If I feel weak and disempowered in my thoughts and repeat that same energy and those same negative thoughts day in and day out, I’m not likely to see that computer any time soon. But if my thoughts and energy are strong, clear, and persistent, I’ll find a way to get that computer–especially when I repeat those positive thoughts and energy.

In a normal hypnosis or self-hypnosis setting, you become relaxed and focus your mind on what you want to create or change. But you can do the same thing with waking hypnosis. You can teach yourself to have positive and powerful thoughts in relationship to the things you’d like to create for yourself. The most important aspect to becoming effective with waking self-hypnosis is to learn to monitor your thoughts and feelings. Becoming self aware is absolutely critical to your success with waking hypnosis. Spend a day focusing on watching your thoughts and your feelings. You’ll be amazed at what you’ll learn about yourself. Like the rest of us, you’re already practicing waking self-hypnosis; so, there’s no reason not to become the best waking self-hypnotist you possibly can.

Rainforest Sanctuary Meditation

I’ve just begun a new script for a meditation session.  I’m calling it, “Rainforest Sanctuary Meditation.  In this mp3 session, the listener, via his/her imagination, will be taken deep into a rainforest to their own personal sanctuary.  There, they will relax on a couch in the large, front porch of the sanctuary.  A “magical mist” induction will take them deep within themselves, and once sufficiently relaxed, they will enjoy a twelve minute meditation.  The background music is called “sanctuary” and includes the sound of rain falling in a jungle setting intermixed with a beautifully soothing music score.  This project should be complete by the end of February.

Energy Alignment Self-Hypnosis

Sometime this spring, I’ll be introducing a new kind of hypnosis mp3. I’ll be calling it Energy Alignment Self-Hypnosis (EASH for short). EASH will combine a form of energy alignment with self-hypnosis to form a very powerful new tool for self-improvement. So, what is energy alignment?

Well, it’s been around for thousands of years in various forms. Chinese mystics mapped out the body’s energy matrix thousands of years ago. And from this knowledge of the body’s energy fields, eventually arose the practice of acupuncture–the most common and well known form of energy alignment or healing. But a little over 25 years ago, psychologist Roger Callahan developed a technique he referred to as Thought Field Therapy. When a person has an issue or problem, there is almost always an emotional component to the problem, a blockage or disturbance that shows up as a disruption in the energy field. Callahan developed a technique which used the tapping of the major energy field endpoints in conjunction with thinking about the specific issue or problem. This tapping (which essentially replaces the acupuncture needles) of the major energy field endpoints neutralizes the disruption and eliminates or balances the energetic cause of the problem or issue. While it may sound a little complicated, it’s remarkably simple. Anyone can learn this technique in a few minutes.

Thought Field Therapy has branched off into different variations (Emotional Freedom Technique and Evolving Thought Field Therapy are just a couple), though they all use very similar techniques and it’s all based on the acupuncture model. The tapping, in some instances, has been replaced by the less intrusive Touch-and-Breathe technique (used by Evolving Thought Field Therapy) or the light and gentle massaging technique (this is the technique I use).

The common thread with these forms of energy alignment is that they are simple to learn and have reported great rates of success. I’ve been studying these different forms of energy alignment the past year and it struck me what a perfect complement to self-hypnosis they are. Why? Because by combining these two very successful techniques, you can deal with the emotional component of an issue and reprogram your subconscious mind in an effective and powerful way at the same time. I’ll be going into much greater detail when I write a new section on the website this spring that will explain the energy alignment process. I’ll also be creating a video to illustrate just how easy it is to learn Energy Alignment Self-Hypnosis. Later.

Hypnosis-Related New Year’s Resolution

So, how am I doing on my New Year’s resolution to create 18 new hypnosis mp3s for my website this year?  Well, I’ve finished my first script for the year.  This self-hypnosis mp3 is entitled “Morning Day Planner and Energy Booster.”  This is one I’ll use from time to time when I want to get a lot accomplished on a specific day or have a specific task I’d like to get done that day.  I believe this is going to be a very effective self-hypnosis session.  In it, you get to visualize what you’ll be doing that day and see yourself successfully accomplishing what it is you’ve set out to do.

I expect to be recording this hypnotherapy session some time in February.  I also have three other scripts I’ve finished from last year that I’ve yet to record.  One is a self-hypnosis induction entitled, “Incredibly Relaxed”; another deals with insomnia; and the third deals with ending nail-biting.  The insomnia and nail-biting sessions are going to be what I call Energy Alignment Self-Hypnosis mp3s.  These sessions will combine a form of energy alignment (I’ll discuss this in detail in a later post) with self-hypnosis to form a very powerful tool for self-improvement.  The Energy Alignment Self-Hypnosis mp3s likely won’t be up till around April or May since I have to write a new section for the website and film a short video before I can put up the mp3s on the site.  Anyway, I’m making progress and expect to have a great and successful year.

How to Hypnotize Someone

Arthur King has written an article on “How to Hypnotize Someone” over at ezinearticles.com.  In his article, he talks about the use of Ericksonian techniques in learning how to hypnotize someone through everyday conversations.  This technique, called “conversational hypnosis,” was developed by Milton Erickson.  With conversational hypnosis, you can learn how to interject suggestions within your conversation that are directed to your subconscious mind.

New Year’s Resolutions with Hypnosis

Do you love making New Year’s resolutions?  Many of us do.   Hypnosis can be a powerful ally in helping us to succeed with our resolutions.  Because changing our mind at the subconscious level is crucial if we want to make changes in our behavior patterns or create something new for ourselves.  It’s easy for us to change our mind at the conscious level, but changing our mind at the subconscious level is quite another thing.  It requires a state of mind in which the subconscious comes to the forefront of our minds.  And that’s where hypnosis comes into play.

This year, my main resolution is to create 18 new hypnosis mp3 sessions for my website.  That’s an average of 1 1/2 per month.  I also want to improve my ability to live in the moment more and improve my conscious awareness.  One of the first self-hypnosis sessions I am going to create is one on being fully present.  Of course, next year at this time, I’ll have the opportunity to see just how well I’ve done with my resolutions.

So, do you have resolutions?  Like to share them?
